Kate Baldwin’s presentation was great and quite informative. There is a online tutorial here that cover much of what Kate shared with us.
Bottom line: If you register before you are infringed upon, you can sue for actual and statutory damages (lawyer fees etc) and the infringer’s attorney will likely want to play ball. If you are infringed upon without registering first, its 10k to get started in federal court and you cannot sue for legal fees.
Ouch.

Yikes!
Been a while since I’ve updated you all. Lots to catch up on.
First things first. We had a great evening with Dick Durrance last nite. Over 60 people attended the event we held in conjunction with Pictureline. He is a wonderful, dynamic speaker with a rich photographic carrer.
A reminder that we have Blake Discher speaking about negotiating with clients on November 4th.
More news to come on lots of things.

Finally, some non tax related news.
Judy’s seminar will be held May 12 at the Hampton Inn in Woods Cross, 10 minutes from downtown. Judy will also be offering personal consultations while she is in Salt Lake City. No specific dates yet, but these consultations will be held in the days preceding or following the seminar. I’ll post details when I have them.
Judy is a past ASMP National president and quite successful as a photographer.

Weare going to be hosting Judy here in Salt Lake on May 12th. Details on location will be finalized in the next week or so. Details on the seminar are here . Costs are $35.00 for members, $60.00 for non members and $20.00 for students. Judy is a funny, dynamic speaker and just finished 6 years as ASMP National president. I’ll have more when the location is set.
